FIVE FanFest Doubleheader Weekend Ahead
(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Sudbury FIVE are set to bring a weekend of entertainment for all fans, as the Glass City Wranglers visit for matchups on Saturday, March 22nd, and Sunday, March 23rd. Tip-off on Saturday is set for 7:00 PM, with Sunday’s game starting at 2:00 PM.
Entering the week with a record of 18-8 and a .692 winning percentage, the Sudbury FIVE continue to sit atop the Basketball Super League standings. With three BSL games remaining, this weekend’s doubleheader will likely prove critical to the FIVE’s success in holding onto the first seed.
Saturday’s game is proudly sponsored by the YMCA. It’s minor sports night, where young athletes are encouraged to come out and cheer on the Sudbury FIVE. The YMCA will be on-site with great prizes and giveaways, including thundersticks for fans to get loud. Fans will also have the opportunity to contribute to a great cause, as Saturday’s 50/50 draw proceeds will go towards YMCA’s Fill The Bus campaign. This initiative raises funds to send local kids to camp this summer.
Sunday afternoon will feature FanFest, with doors opening at noon to the public. The court will be open from 12:00 to 12:30 PM, with select FIVE players on the court as well. Once the court closes, bouncy castles and face painting will be courtside to keep the entertainment going.
"Shoresy" Season 5 is filming a scene during warm-ups at Sunday’s game. Want a chance to see the stars in action—and maybe even be in the show? Grab your tickets now and be in your seat by 1:30 PM!
Sunday’s game is sponsored by Desjardins, who will be on-site with several contests for fans to look forward to. At halftime, the Snowball Toss will take place, where fans can purchase snowballs at both courtside and the upper concourse. All proceeds will go towards Canadian Blood Services. The closest fans to making the basket at center court will win some great prizes, courtesy of Desjardins. Sunday’s game will also be our final bilingual game of the season, with French announcements and music enhancing the experience for all fans.
