FIVE Host Jamestown Jackals Saturday

FIVE Host Jamestown Jackals Saturday

(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Sudbury FIVE are set to defend their home court this Saturday as they welcome the Jamestown Jackals to the Sudbury Community Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

The FIVE sitting atop the league with an impressive 0.762-win percentage, the team has been dominant throughout the season. Last weekend, they delivered an outstanding 124-96 victory over the Pharaohs, extending their win streak to 16-5. Riding high on momentum, Sudbury is poised to continue their stellar play in this weekend’s matchup.

A handful of standout performances powered the victory last weekend. Jelani Simmons made his mark off the bench with 25 points in just 26 minutes, shooting a remarkable 71.4% from three and 66.7% from the field, while also adding 7 rebounds. Ja’myrin Jackson, the league’s current top scorer with an average of 24 points per game, continued his strong form with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Duane Notice also had a great showing, contributing 23 points, 4 rebounds, and a flawless 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Notice ranks second in the league in free-throw percentage at 80.2 percent and sits third in assists, dishing out 109 dimes over the course of the season.

This Saturday’s game is the final showdown between these two teams, following a pair of victories for the FIVE in January. Before returning to Sudbury, the FIVE will first visit Jamestown, ensuring this week’s matchup will be packed with intensity. Fans can expect a fast-paced, high-energy game as the FIVE look to extend their lead in the BSL standings and build crucial momentum as they head toward the postseason.
